We are a community organization that strives to do positive things for Forest Junction including managing and maintaining the Freitag Memorial Park , the Forest Junction ‘welcome’ signs, Freitag Memorial Disc Golf Course (9 more holes to be completed Summer, 2009), and our annual Corn Roast and Family Picnic, community pot lucks, etc.

In addition to the existing community web page www.forestjunction.org, the Forest Junction Civic League is looking to build a community email distribution list for the sole purpose of providing short term announcements relating to the Civic League and Forest Junction that may not be on the community website.  Please send an email message to the Forest Junction Civic League fjcl@tds.net indicating your desire to receive occasional emails relating to Forest Junction.  Thank you.

The focus this year is to finish the last nine hole of the disc golf course (pick up brush, etc.).  Yes, we are looking for volunteers to help in the park this summer.  Any help from you will be appreciated.

Our main, annual event is the Corn Roast and Family Picnic which is held on the fourth Sunday of August at Freitag Memorial Park.  You will find food, live music, games and lots of fun for the entire family.  To top off the corn roast, you can participate in a raffle where only 100 tickets are sold and the winner receives $1,000.00.  If you are interested in helping with the corn roast and picnic, or if you want a raffle ticket, contact Tom VanDeLoo or one of the other officers.

This year in combination with our corn roast, we will be having a disc golf exhibition tournament – watch for more details in August.  The goal is to host sanctioned disc golf tournaments in the future.

Each spring the Civic League asks for help to clean up the Freitag Memorial Park and the streets throughout the community.  This year it is on April 26th.  If you can’t come to the park that day, please pick up the trash along the road that runs in front of your home.

If you wish to rent the Freitag Memorial Park for an event, call 989-1301 for availability.  The reservation fee of $25.00 per day gives you access to the kitchen and bathrooms.
