ABOUT THE COURSE:
Looking for a challenge? This is the course for you. This course is in a woods. There are fallen trees, areas of thick brush, and water hazards. Only four of the baskets are visible from the pads. This course rewards the player who can keep his or her disc on the long narrow fairways. The rough is purposely "rough" to handicap the talented player with the novice player. |

| PLAYING THE COURSE:
Bring insect repellent during June, July, and August. Some parts of the course are wet in spring. Have water shoes available in April, May, and June, especially if you can't keep your disc on the fairway. August is dry and the mosquitoes disappear by September. The best playing time is mid-August until the snow is too deep to walk in. Fall is always a gorgeous time to be in the woods. There is no hunting in the woods, but wear blaze orange during gun deer hunting season anyway. Sometimes in winter, a snowmobile will traverse the fairways making winter play possible. The wild flowers are impressive in May. If you are quiet, you will notice birds, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and perhaps deer. Please help keep the park clean.

TOURNAMENT: We will attempt an amateur tournament on the same day as our annual community corn roast, picnic, and car show--the fourth Sunday in August.
OWNERSHIP & MAINTENANCE: Freitag Memorial Park is a privately owned park that is held in trust for public enjoyment. The
park is owned by the Forest Junction Civic League--a volunteer group
who maintains the course as time and money are available. The course is nearly complete, but there is always more work to do and fallen trees to move. Please contact us if you are inclined to help. There is a work group e-mail distribution list used to announce scheduled work times. |
